Vaporizers

Cryeng Group have extensive experience in the design and manufacture of Ambient Air Vaporizers (AAV) and Pressure Building Coil (PBC) type vaporizers. AAV are designed for the purpose of superheating liquified gas (typically around -177.5oC) through a process known as regasification. The gas send-out temperature is controlled to be not less than -25oC at the AAV outlet manifolds to reduce plant capital cost. The gas will warm up to ambient temperatures during the pipeline transmission to the powerplant.

Our typical AAV consists of the following:

  • two banks of alternating AAV clusters – 8 hour cycles
  • continuous regasification of LNG at a constant rate of 20mmscfd at 40 barg
  • each bank consists of 8 aluminium (grade 6061) AAV units/columns, designed to B31.3 or AS4041
  • each unit measures approximately 2.4 x 2.4 x 8m high – subject to client’s requirements
  • automatic control systems are provided to monitor the vaporizer performance and alternate AAV units and/or banks between defrosting mode and operating mode after each 8-hour cycle
  • cycle times can be set to suite the customer requirement and the local ambient conditions
  • designed and manufactured according to ASME-U B31.1 or B31.3
  • option provided for forced convection AAV:
    • equipped with air fans or water sprays
    • seawater or freshwater sources are typically used, at a rate of up to 2000LPM
